The Chinese New Year is approaching, and with it comes a two-week holiday (January 28 to February 12, 2025). During this time, factories and logistics networks pause as people travel home to reunite with family. Operations typically take about a month to fully return to normal. For dropshipping businesses, this can mean delays in order fulfillment and potential profit losses.

GSR Holiday Schedule

At GSR, our warehouses will be closed from January 28 to February 2, 2025. During this period, order shipments will be paused. Once operations resume, there may be a 5–7 day delay due to the backlog. To help you minimize disruption, we recommend taking action now based on your store's needs.

GSR’s Recommendations

1. Plan Ahead

Review past sales trends to estimate your inventory needs and pre-order stock with your agent. While this may increase upfront costs and risk, it’s often less damaging than losing customers due to stockouts. Additionally, the production cycle around Chinese New Year overlaps with major holidays like Valentine’s Day and Carnival. If you sell seasonal products related to these events or springtime, ensuring adequate inventory is especially critical.

2. Communicate with Your Agent

GSR has extensive experience managing order delays and stock shortages during the Chinese New Year. Openly discuss potential challenges with your agent and collaborate on solutions. This proactive approach can help mitigate issues before they arise.

3. Adjust Your Marketing Spend

We recommend maintaining your current ad budget rather than scaling up during this period. Expanding too quickly when production is paused could lead to unfulfilled orders, customer dissatisfaction, and wasted ad spend. Focus on sustaining the momentum of your best-selling products instead of chasing a sales peak that you may not be able to support.

4. Inform Your Customers About Possible Delays

Be transparent about potential delays by providing clear notifications on your website:

  • Add a message during the checkout process.
  • Send email updates to customers after they place an order.

When customers are informed about potential delays upfront, they’re more understanding. Transparency reduces the likelihood of negative reviews or refund requests caused by unanticipated delays.

GSR’s Commitment

We’ll continue fulfilling orders up to the last possible day before the holiday and resume operations immediately afterward. By planning ahead and working closely with us, you can minimize disruption and keep your business running smoothly during this seasonal break.
